c'est Bon temps

If you happen to be strolling down Royal Street, gawking at the beauty of New Orleans' French Quarter, be sure to stop into Gallery Orange–not only might you see some of Helene's work, but also one of the loveliest gallery collections we've ever seen.

“…it is a treasured gift that promises to turn into a much-heralded collection.”

Jack and Becky Benaroya, among the most prolific art collectors in the Pacific Northwest, bequeathed their collection to the Tacoma Art Museum -- over 225 works -- as well as the funding to construct a new wing to house the pieces. The Benaroya wing opened in January 2019 and we are excited to announce that Helene's iconic 1988 series, "Self Preservation" was included in the gift and will soon again be on display. The collection also features works by Dale Chihuly, Ginny Ruffner, Leo Adams, Deborah Butterfield, Morris Graves and Mark Tobey, among many others.
